| Jeanne Thompson | | February 19th, 2010 | | Jeanne Ann Burkholder Thompson, 88, of West Lafayette, died at 12:16 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, 2010 at St. Elizabeth Central.
Born March 8, 1921, in West Lafayette, she was the daughter of the late Cecil and June Johnson Burkholder. She was a graduate of West Lafayette High School and Purdue University, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Home Economics.
On Dec. 26, 1942, she married William D. Thompson, and he preceded her in death on March 17, 2001.
Mrs. Thompson was a homemaker for many years and had been an instructor at Patricia Stevens College. She previously resided in Wichita, KS, for 28 years; Dormelletto, Italy for 3 years; Sun River, OR for 15 years; and Bella Vista, Ark. For 11 years.
She enjoyed golf, sailing, bridge, traveling, entertaining and her grandchildren.
Surviving are two sons, W.D. “Tom” Thompson (wife, Polly) of Charlottesville, Va, and Burk Thompson (wife, Gail) of West Lafayette; and a daughter, Connie Thompson of Falcon Heights, Minn.
Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, Brooke Michelsen (husband, Chris) of Highlands Ranch, Colo., Trevor Thompson of West Lafayette, Paige Thompson (fiancé, Patrick Leonard) of Denver, Colo., Brady Thompson of West Lafayette and Sean Filipow of Houston, Texas. Memorial Service 2 p.m. Saturday, May 1, 2010, at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 211 Knox Dr., West Lafayette, IN 47906. Memorial donations may be made to Help Hospitalized Veterans, P.O.
