Ashly Chaparro, 12, of Lafayette passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at her residence. She was born August 31, 2007 in Lafayette to Oscar and Carolina (De Jesus) Chaparro. She was a sixth grader at Sunnyside Middle School. Ashly was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church. She enjoyed drawing and playing in the band. She is survived by her parents Oscar and Carolina, two sisters Maria and Leslie, and brother Brian; paternal grandmother Martha Martinez of Lafayette and maternal grandparents Magdalena Reyes and Ignacio De Jesus of Mexico. Visitation will be held from 12pm – 3 pm Sunday, February 2, 2020 at Hippensteel Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be 10am Monday, February 3, 2020 at St. Boniface Catholic Church with Father Tim Alkire officiating.
