Maurice "Mack" Byron McMillan Sr.

Maurice “Mack” Byron McMillan, Sr., 57, of West Lafayette passed away Sunday, May 12, 2019 at St. Elizabeth East Hospital. He was born October 22, 1961 in Baltimore, MD to the late Johnnie Lee McMillan Sr. and Mary Julia (Gracey) McMillan. He was a 1979 graduate of Lake Clifton Senior High School before attending Baltimore City Community College. Mack worked for various local facilities including: Bob Rohrman Auto, Wabash National, Hanson Logistics and WWL (a subsidiary of SIA). He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force as a Machine Gunner Specialist and Military Police officer. He married his first wife Reda Mae Davis on June 14, 1982. She preceded him in death on November 2, 2000. On October 25, 2003 they originally went for an oil change and he married Dr. Deanna Corbett in Binney Park, Old Greenwich, CT. They later married surrounded by family and friends on January 1, 2004 at the Union Baptist Church in Stamford, CT. He was a member of Second Baptist Church where he led the Sound Ministry. Mack loved all things music. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and life-long member of Steeler Nation. More than anything, he loved God and family. Surviving along with his wife Deanna, are his children: Tameeka McMillan – Vice of Chicago, IL, Maurice B. McMillan Jr. of Waynesburg, PA and Shantel McMillan of Baltimore, MD; and bonus brother Ronald Streater. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Keion McMillan, Charyce Burrell, Aniya McMillan, Maurice B. McMillan III, Samira McMillan and Briana McMillan. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Albert Smith and Johnny “Stevie” McMillan Jr; and bonus brother Trent Coleman. Visitation will be held 9 – 11 am Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Second Baptist Church. Funeral service to follow at 11am with Reverend Charles Walter officiating. Interment will take place at a later date in Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery in Owings Mills, MD.
