Ruth Waugh, 82, of Lafayette passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2021. She was born June 13, 1938 in Lafayette, IN, to the late William H. and Irene (Rayburn) Johnston. Ruth owned and operated her own hair salon for many years. On June 20, 1956 she married Robert A. Waugh in Lafayette. He preceded her in death on April 6, 2014. Ruth was a member of Buck Creek United Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing cards especially, Euchre and was a member of Card Club. She loved traveling and visiting family. She was always staying busy. Surviving are her three sons: Albert Waugh of Jacksonville, FL, Gary (Anita) Waugh of Dunkirk, MD and Robert (Chris) Waugh of Frankfort, and siblings: Bill (Charlene) Johnston, Florence McFarland and Judy (Lewis) Munger; sister-in-law Sandy Johnston; six grandchildren: Raymond, Eric, Robert, Sam, Olivia and Emily; and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Along with her husband, Robert she is preceded in death by her parents and brother Albert Johnston. Visitation will be held from 10am – 11am on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Hippensteel Funeral Home. Funeral service will begin at 11am with Pastor Jim Davidson officiating. Interment will follow at Isley Cemetery. In lieu of usual remembrances, contributions may be directed to the Buck Creek United Methodist Church.
