Shirley Faye Hollenback

Shirley Faye Hollenback, 74, of Lafayette passed away Saturday, December 26, 2020 at her home. She was born June 17, 1946 in Tyronza, AR, to the late Jack B. and Bertha M. Hurst. Shirley obtained her Masters degree from Arkansas State University. She worked as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor. On July 8, 2000 she married Ed Hollenback in West Lafayette and he survives. Shirley was a very hard worker. She raised 5 children as a single mother before going back to school to finish her education; and volunteered as a Cub Scout Leader. She was a simple southern lady who adored her grandchildren. She had a big, generous heart and loved animals. She will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved her. Along with her husband, Ed, she is survived by her children: Phillip J. (Lori) Birmingham of McHenry, IL, Lisa Birmingham (Randy) Wolf of West Lafayette, IN, Kimberly Birmingham of Lafayette, Jennifer Reitz of Lafayette and Nancy Birmingham also of Lafayette; and step son Michael Hollenback of Denver, CO. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren: Rachael Wolf of West Lafayette, Jackson and Abrahm Reitz of Lafayette, and Jasper and Max Birmingham of McHenry; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers. Funeral services will be held at a later date in Arkansas. Memorial contributions may be directed to a charity of your choosing.
