Rev. Wilma J. Kirk

Wilma J. Kirk- Rev. Wilma J. Kirk, 82 of Lafayette, IN passed away Thursday, February 25, 2021 at 2:30am. Wilma was born on August 18, 1939 in West Louisville, KY. She was the daughter of the late John Ball Sr. and Daisy Baughn-Ball-Wilson. Wilma was raised by her step-father James Wilson of Chandler, IN. She received her education in Evansville and later Ministry training through Pentecostal Church of God, as well as working in child care. On October 4, 1958 she married Leon Kirk and he preceded her in death, in 2010. Rev. Kirk was an ordained Minister with The Pentecostal Church of God and specialized in youth ministry for 41 years. She and her late husband also were the founding Pastor’s of The House of Prayer, working with the needy, physically and mentally handicapped families in Lafayette for over 20 years. Rev. Kirk is survived by two sons Daniel Leon of Lafayette and Timothy Edward (Christina) of Charlotte, North Carolina; daughter Jeanie (Larry) Williams of Lafayette, brother John Ball Jr (Linda) of Michigan; sisters Irene Payne and Carol (Larry) Cates of Evansville; 19 grandchildren and 44 great grandchildren. There will be a private family service at Hippensteel Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park.
